Venture Will Be At The National Arts Marketing Project Conference Nov 12-15

Nov 2, 2011

Venture’s principal, Drew McManus, will be taking part in several sessions at this year’s  National Arts Marketing Project from November 12 – 15, 2011 in Louisville, KY. He’ll be involved in a variety of capacities:

  1. Serving as a speaker in the Your Website Is Ugly! session on Sunday, November 13, 2011 from 4:00pm – 5:00pm. The session will examine user-friendly and inexpensive content management system tools can not only improve the visual characteristics of an arts organization’s website, but also allow anyone on staff (whether or not they have HTML knowledge) to easily update the site and provide fresh content.
  2. Serving as a coach in the conference’s One-To-One Coaching sessions on Monday, November 14, 2011 from 3:30 pm – 5:15 pm on the topic of designing an effective arts website. According to the conference website, sign-ups will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis so if you’re already signed up for the conference (kudos to you if you are) you can submit a request online at the coaching sign up page or sign up in person in the conference CenterStage.
  3. Hosting one of the conference’s Dine-Around events on Monday, November 14, 2011 at 7:30pm to facilitate a session titled Making sure your website doesn’t suck. Think of it like an everything-you-wanted-to-know-about-websites-but-were-afraid-to-ask oriented conversation. Dine-Arounds are typically limited to 10 per event so sign up early at the Louisville CVB desk located in Centerstage. If you aren’t registered for the conference yet, you can do that online.
  4. Authoring a pair of blog contributions to the official conference blog. Both are online now and examine technology related issues for arts organizations: With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility and Success Stories.
Mr. McManus will also be available to meet with attendees to hear about your current website needs and answer questions about what the Venture Platform can do to improve your situation as well as hands-on demos.

Schedule a time with Mr. McManus to talk tech, talk shop, or just hang out and have some fun!
